Education is a basic right of every child as it is the prime factor responsible for the overall development of the child. But this right is often violated in different countries due to the social evil of mass illiteracy. To fight from the illiteracy several social service organizations support government concentrating only in the field of education to eliminate illiteracy from the country. Apart from them, education sponsoring societies also play a crucial role in the collection and disbursement of valuable funds. In order to remove illiteracy from the society it is the duty of every citizen to come and contribute in this noble cause and at least sponsor education of a single child to encourage them to avail the basic right of education.  

Usually the children are deprived of this basic right due to poverty and lack of resources. For majority of parents, the aim is to provide their child with only food and shelter. Education is something that they didn’t even think of. In order to motivate these parents to send their children to school, they need to be properly convinced as well as monetary supported. Therefore social service organization provides finances and other resources to these sections of people so they agree to send their children to school. Well mums and dads it looks like the days of the abacus is now a thing of the past. Remember how we would sit for hours teaching the children how to count with rows of coloured balls and how we would scroll down every sentence of the famous Janet and John book when teaching the kiddies to read. Nursery and Primary Schoolers and Computer Education

Computer education is important even in small countries like Cameroon and a recent 2 day seminar proved this. Attending this seminar were school officials from 10 of Cameroon’s provinces who voted to implement an extensive communication and information technology program for their nursery and primary school students.

This initiative was begun because educator’s began to realize that their children could not be productive as adults unless they were give the tools they needed to keep up with the computer-related technologies that now drive today’s world. Education topics will now include training on the different parts of a computer along with relavent software and how it is used. Along the way, children will be encouraged to adopt the same method of information filtration that computers use so effectively.

Cameroon schools are facing one big problem with this new initiative and that is a lack of computers. They simply do not have enough to get through the daily educational process let alone a new extensive computer training program. It has been decided that, until new computers can be purchased, the younger children will be taught about computers using only pictures and the actual computers will be reserved for the older children.
